Ready to embrace new opportunities, Dr. Abimbola Adeyinka Adeniyi took a leap with Dedicare, stepping into a fulfilling role as a locum doctor. Here, he shares his insights into the journey so far and the rewarding experience of starting a fresh chapter in his career.

Why did you choose to work with Dedicare?

I received a contact through LinkedIn at a time when I was not available for locum work though I anticipated I would be a couple of months later. As requested, I received a call later and I was interested in the offer and hospital.

How have you been assisted before and during your employment?

Prior to the assignment, Dedicare liaised with the hospital with regard to travel, arrival times, induction, etc. Dedicare also much later informed me of the interest of the hospital to extend the contract and if I was interested, then facilitated the renewal of the contract.

What prompted you to seek new opportunities within your profession, and what made you decide to work with a recruitment agency?

At that point in my career, I anticipated a short break doing locums while I decided on the next career move.

Are you enjoying your current job?

Very much so. Very pleasant patient interactions, amazing colleagues, great management support and a fulfilling role with a sense of genuinely making a difference. Life in the area is also quite pleasant.

Can you describe a typical workday?

Not easy as content can be variable, which I enjoy. Arriving at work at 8am, having a clinic in person, or a telephone clinic, a theatre list, etc if not on call or if on call, quite unpredictable content of the day.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending time with my wife, going on walks, photography.

How did you find our compliance process?

Occasionally straightforward, occasionally tedious, especially when it is time to renew e-learning!
