Healthcare
Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) comprises of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH), Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute (MWI) and the Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre. BHB is mandated through legislation to provide quality mental health and acute care for the people of Bermuda. As a quango, the operations are managed by BHB’s Executive Team under the governance of a government-appointed Board. They serve Bermuda’s resident population of approximately 64000 as well as the many visitors who arrive on the island each year. Given the relatively isolated geographic location, the Bermuda community needs a range of services far broader than would commonly be expected of a hospital serving a similar population base.
Taking on Bermuda hospital jobs
Before taking on Bermuda hospital jobs, mandatory pre-employment checks will need to be undertaken in the UK in addition to those checks required by BHB as part of your application to work in Bermuda. Dedicare will help with any document requirements needed to obtain the work permit and registration with the Medical Council.
Initially you will be required to provide a current CV which details your employment and training history, qualifications, memberships and professional registration, and details of professional referees. Upon confirmation and acceptance of employment you will be required to apply for a Bermuda License to Practise and when issued the BHB will submit the application for your work permit.
Any offer of employment is subject to the provision of a completed BHB Health Certificate Form and results of the Employee Health Services tests conducted within 48 hours of arrival in Bermuda confirming your health status as fit. Dedicare will provide support and assistance and work with you throughout the entire process.
